Three Layers

Hand knitted laces is the relic of an obsolete craft that many women in the past possessed in Greece. I have always found them a very  imposing “readymade“ to work with due to their decorative function as well as their abstract formalism.
I created these series of boxed laces with further alterations so that their first decorative function was eliminated in order to become a work with similar aesthetic value but with a completely different function.
