Sisyphus

This installation is based on the Ancient Greek myth of Sisyphus. Sisyphus was destined to endlessly carry a heavy rock along the slope of a steep mountain and when his task was completed; he simply watched the rock rolling down the slope so that he would start to carry it back again.
In order to capture the endlessly vain activity of Sisyphus I used a readymade toy with a small penguin going up and down a flight of stairs. The readymade was encircled with red strings and was framed by a white handiwork with nails.
