Needle

When we observe something closely we think that we can understand its function and purpose. This style of observation was applied to a needle, a very common tool of everyday life that always appealed to me for aesthetic reasons. So I constructed a huge out of proportion needle, in order to explore its formalistic and sculptural potential. In order to avoid making this oversized needle threatening to the viewers I enclosed it in a Plexiglas box. So it could be observed and even admired by the viewers not as a bizarre or somewhat funny sculptural object, but as an object that reveals a completely different potential beyond its capacity to be used.
